The Dee Buchanan Studio of Dance

The Dee Buchanan Studio of Dance opened on Church Street in Middletown, MD, in 1992. Owner and director Dee Buchanan is a life-long Middletown resident and a graduate of Middletown High School and Hood College. For Dee, the ability to share her passion for dance with the youth of Middletown Valley is a dream come true.

Over the years, the studio’s programs have grown and evolved. In its opening season, the class genres included just ballet, tap and jazz. Today, dancers ages two through adult can still find classes in ballet, tap and jazz – as well as in lyrical, modern, hip-hop, musical theatre, pointe, acrobatics, and contemporary.

Dee and the studio’s teaching staff hold teaching certifications through Dance Masters of America, Acrobatic Arts, Alixa Flexibility, Rhythm Works Integrative Dance, and the Cecchetti Council of America. They strive to provide superior training to their students, but more importantly, all the teachers at the Dee Buchanan Studio of Dance want to help dancers find a love of performing, and to find joy and beauty in the art of dance.
